Bathroom with wet room shower designed, supplied & installed by Bath House.

Brief:: To design, supply and install a bespoke Sauna, Steam Room and WC in a basement in a period house in Dalkey.

Details:: The Bespoke Sauna was constructed from American Red Cedar as this is not only a beautiful looking timber it is also highly water tolerant due to its naturally high oil content. Heat for the sauna is supplied from an electric sauna heater and lighting is provided by a Fibre Optic lighting system.

The Steam Room was first insulated and then the tanking (waterproofing) system was applied. As can be seen in the attached images the ceiling has been fitted with a slope meeting the walls with a large radius curve. This method of construction aims to eliminate drips falling from the ceiling. A combination of large format and mosaic stone was fitted to all walls, floor and ceiling. A shower has been fitted in the Steam Room with the shower head mounted to the ceiling and a concealed thermostatic shower valve on the wall just inside the door. Steam is supplied from the Steam Generator in the next room. For this project a 14kW, 3 phase gernerator with remote kepad was used.

The Steam Room Enclosure and the WC cubicle were constructed from satinated clear glass mounted into the ceiling. The satinated finished glass assures privacy while allowing generous amounts of light in.

Basin: Catalano Verso.

WC: Axa One wall hung WC w/ Geberit frame.

Brassware: Hansgrohe Raindance Shower Head.
